Details

This contains instructions for how to connect to Stride's testnet, PoolParty.

Stride has tried to keep the instructions as simple as possible, but if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Stride over email, on Twitter, or at Discord.

Requirements for this testnet are quite minimal. You should have a 4 CPU 32 GB RAM machine. Stride has only tested this build on OSX and Linux machines, but hopes to support Windows soon.

Stride has launched PoolParty to give its earliest community members a taste of what multichain liquid staking looks like on Stride. The project is proud to say that PoolParty has full functionality, which means you can liquid stake, compounding rewards, and redeem on the Stride Zone.

PoolParty allows you to:

  • Liquid Stake your tokens from any IBC-compatible chain on Stride, which mints you stATOM* that you can move or transfer to any IBC-compatible chain, while still accruing staking yield
  • Redeem your stATOM to receive your ATOM and ATOM rewards
  • See your rewards accrue after delegation, which you can redeem to claim tokens at the end
  • Use the faucet to get and Stake testnet Stride tokens

As with all testnets, Stride will continue to improve and iterate on PoolParty to give you the best experience possible. Stride is continually adding additional safety checks and upgrading protocol security. The team is eager for user feedback, so please give them any and all feedback in the #feedback channel of Discord.

How to Participate

To participate in PoolParty, head over to Github and follow the instructions in README.md. Stride Discord also has a dedicated PoolParty category for all things testnet, including instructions for liquid staking, redeeming tokens, and claiming your tokens (in the #instructions channel). If you still have any issues getting up and running on PoolParty, come talk to the team over in #technical-questions!

What’s Next?

  • Launch Stride frontend to make Stride easier to use. While the first iteration of PoolParty will be available to interact with via your command line, they are working super hard on building a web app with an excellent UX
  • Launch an incentivized testnet to find bugs and incentivize usage. Stride recognizes how important your early feedback and trust is, and are greatly appreciative of your support during the earliest stages. For that reason, Stride wants to make sure it is as thoughtful as possible, and able to most fairly compensate early participants and contributors to the Stride ecosystem.

*Stride is starting PoolParty off with only ATOM and stATOM, but will be adding functionality to support additional tokens very soon

Bounties

To earn rewards on the PoolParty testnet, submit evidence of having completed the following tasks. The goal is stress test the Stride core appchain and module logic.

Thoughtful, clear submissions will be rewarded far more than low-effort submissions, which will receive minimal rewards. You do NOT need to make a submission to earn rewards for running validators and relayers. Stride will detect your validators and relayers using onchain data.

Disclaimers

  1. Stride will NOT verify your submission is valid until the incentivized testnet has finished.
  2. The points listed in the task are the max you can earn for completing the task with high quality. Most submissions will earn fewer points for low quality, or no points if they violate the rules.
  3. You will be asked to prove you own the address associated with the account that completed the task
  4. You will be asked for several other verifications to prevent sybil attacks.
  5. Most tasks can only be completed once. Use your judgement (e.g. Stride will NOT reward you for delegating twice)

How To Submit A Task

Please submit evidence you've completed a task using this SUBMISSION FORM.

Use your best judgement to determine what constitutes proof you've completed the task (links to transactions/accounts and writeups are best; screenshots are acceptable but not ideal, other forms of evidence are unlikely to earn you rewards).

Questions?

Questions about incentivized testnet are ONLY allowed in the #testnet-tasks channel. If you ask questions in other channels, you risk losing your incentives.
