Sonic Boom offers up to 30 winning projects an allocation of Gems as bounties for developing innovative apps across a variety of categories that you can find in the next section.

These Gems act as points in the airdrop that projects can distribute to users as rewards for using their apps. This approach helps projects bootstrap and sustain user activity by incentivizing usage.

Sonic Gems represent a meritocratic system designed to empower apps in distributing rewards as part of the airdrop, making them an essential tool for developers aiming to make an impact on the Sonic network.

Sonic is allocating a substantial amount of Sonic Gems to the winning apps of this program, recognizing up to 10 winners across three tiers:

• Emerald: Awarded a mountain of Gems
• Sapphire: Awarded a substantial amount of Gems
• Ruby: Awarded a fair amount of Gems

Winning projects must deploy on the upcoming Sonic testnet with a live, interactive frontend and launch on Sonic within 7 days of its mainnet launch.
