Open Source Money: Provably Fair 500,000 DRGN Giveaway. In celebration of Open Source Money's network television debut, Dragonchain is thrilled to announce a provably fair giveaway.
To enter, watch Open Source Money on Science Channel each week and find the answer to a clue about a particular scene in the show. Instructions to find clues will be given each week on Super Happy Dragon Lucky. Weekly prize amounts will be revealed alongside each clue. Further instructions are available below.
And how do you trust a provably fair giveaway? The system records all user entries on Dragonchain for time stamped and immutable proof of pre-qualification in advance of the selection of a winner. For selection, the system uses future hashes of a predefined block height of Bitcoin and Ethereum. The combined hashes are used to select the winner based on an algorithm described below. It is not possible to know the hash of a block height of any one blockchain, thus making it impossible to profitably game the system.
btc = <BTC timestamp + 10 blocks> eth = <ETH timestamp + 10 blocks> <repeat for other active interchains> selection_hash = hash(btc,eth,*) selection = python -c 'print(int("<selection_hash>", 16 % <number of entries>)'
Entrants and non-entrants alike can watch for the block hashes, see who the winner is in real-time, and verify for themselves that the results are accurate and fair. Neither Dragonchain nor Open Source Money is needed to declare the winner.
*If you can’t make it live, SHDL episodes will also be available to watch anytime on YouTube. You can also listen to the show on your preferred podcast player. They should be available soon after the SHDL livestream.
For all you cord cutters out there, watch on SlingTV or YouTubeTV.
