Details

Now you can test-drive Aztec Connect with our testnet--a fork of Ethereum mainnet that allows: - Developers to build with ease - Users to preview and test features without risking funds Here's how to use it:

Step 1: Connect Metamask (or another Ethereum wallet) to the Testnet. On Metamask, navigate to the network dropdown and click "Add network," then "Add a network manually."

Step 2: Enter the Aztec Testnet network details: Network name: Aztec Testnet RPC URL: …https://aztec-connect-testnet-eth-host.aztec.network:8545 Chain ID: 677868 Currency symbol: ETH

Step 3: After you've added the network details, you can claim testnet tokens for testing on our faucet! Sign in with Discord, verify, and receive Aztec testnet tokens in both DAI and ETH. The faucet drips 10 ETH and 500 DAI every two hours.

Step 4: Begin testing!

And if you're a developer, there are two ways you can start building on Aztec:

  1. Build a privacy-enabled user-facing application utilizing the TypeScript SDK
  2. Build an Aztec Connect bridge that connects Aztec's rollup to Ethereum smart contracts

Whether you decide to build on the SDK or simply create a Connect bridge interface, the testnet and faucet will help you test your program.

Here are a few final resources to help you in your journey developing on Aztec Connect:

  • The SDK CLI tool, which will help you learn how the SDK works in action: docs.aztec.network
  • The frontend boilerplate, which gives you a starting point for a web interface: https://t.co/aqzQNTiXN9
  • And the SDK setup page, which will help you get the SDK installed and running: https://t.co/45WTC2QRC1
